What is Choi Kwang Do? The Origin Story of the Internationally successful modern Martial Art…

Kwang-Jo Choi is the founder and head of the Choi Kwang Do international martial art organisation, with its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Grand master Choi Kwang-jo is a former South Korean national champion in taekwondo, and is one of the twelve original masters of taekwondo of the Korea Taekwon-Do Association.

Due to injuries sustained from his martial arts training he sought medical attention in the United States of America, emigrating there in 1970, and began to study different physical therapy techniques.

In 1987, Choi incorporated everything he had learned into his own martial art system called Choi Kwang Do, which translates as “the art (or method) of Kwang Choi.” The Choi Kwang Do martial arts system includes yoga- based stretching and where it sets itself apart from other martial arts, it works entirely with the natural movements of the body.

Meet Mr Stone who has been a 1st Degree Black Belt junior team leader instructor since he was 8 years old (he is now 10!)

Mr Stone is an incredibly knowledgeable young junior martial artist and one of the original members of Clarke Academy!

Despite his young years Mr Stone is trained to a professional level and has developed both a strong sense of responsibility and technical knowledge that he very much enjoys supporting his fellow students with.

“I find pass on my knowledge and skills to younger members is highly enjoyable and something that I hope to do for many years to come”

Mr Stone is an avid collector of Football trading cards and has an in depth knowledge of formula one racing!
